Sipunculans collected by the 'MD 32' expedition to Reunion Island from
depths ranging from 0 to 3520 m are recorded. Seventeen species in ni
ne genera are recognized; four of them, Nephasoma constrictum, Phascol
ion caupo, Apionsoma capitatum and Aspidosiphon mexicanus, have not be
en recorded hitherto from the Indian Ocean. Significant morphological
characters are described and illustrated. Small, juvenile forms are in
cluded in the collection: these exhibit numerous tiny papillae over th
eir integument, which is interpreted as being a constant character of
recently settled juveniles.
