A method was proposed for estimating the stability of modified surface
Raney catalysts in electrocatalytic processes in the instance of hydr
ogen peroxide electroreduction. An acceleration of the tests was attai
ned by polarization with current densities of 5-10 A/m2 in 1.0-2.0 M H
2O2 solutions with periodic measurements of the current-voltage curves
in more dilute H2O2 solutions. Tests with microelectrodes in three-el
ectrode cells, considerably simplify the estimates of stability. Using
modem physicochemical research techniques it was possible to establis
h a single mechanism for the changes in activity occurring under norma
l and accelerated test conditions.
