M. Arora et Pl. Roe, A WELL-BEHAVED TVD LIMITER FOR HIGH-RESOLUTION CALCULATIONS OF UNSTEADY-FLOW, Journal of computational physics, 132(1), 1997, pp. 3-11
A total variation diminishing (TVD) limiter is proposed that attempts
to maximize performance given that the inherent limitation of ND formu
lations is peak loss. For the scalar advection and Burg er's equation,
the present results are qualitatively superior to those using the har
monic and superbee limiters, balancing well the competing effects of s
kewing, smearing, and squaring. In the case of the Euler equations, th
e current results appear to significantly improve upon previous TVD re
sults and are quite comparable with more elaborate algorithms. (C) 199
