Abstract
In this paper we investigate the onset of spurious fixed points when R unge-Kutta methods are applied to study the dynamics of differential e quations. It is shown computationally that the spurious equilibria of Griffiths at al. [14] are connected at infinity with fixed points inhe rited from the differential equation. We introduce and study the conce pt of B-regularity which is in connection to the concept of regularity introduced by Iserles. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
