Abstract
Results are presented from an experimental investigation of the proces s of water dechlorination by activated carbon, grade BAU-A, obtained a s spent adsorbent in vodka production. The dechlorination process is a ccomplished by means of a chemical reaction taking place on the surfac e of the activated carbon. Equations are derived for the temperature d ependence of the concentration of free chlorine in the solution and in the stream leaving the carbon column. Kinetic equations are derived f or the process of dechlorination at various temperatures and flow velo cities - equations that are needed for the design of the water-treatin g stage.
