A study was carried out on the electrochemical precipitation of tantal
um(V) hydroxide upon electrolysis using an MA-40 separatory anion-exch
ange membrane. Feasibility was shown for the gradientless preparation
of highly pure tantalum(V) oxide from fluoryl reextracts, which are so
lutions of hexafluorotantalic acid, with the simultaneous regeneration
of fluoride as a 20% solution.
