Abstract
The dust collection mechanism was investigated on a multi-stage impact ing electrostatic precipitator. Based on a single model around the col lection electrode, an analytical formula of collection efficiency give n is derived for both single and a multi-stage impacting electrostatic precipitator (MI-ESP) in different conditions. Measurements of total and fractional efficiency were made using talcum powder and mine dust in a pilot scale precipitator. These data are compared with the model. The comparison of a MI-ESP with a general ESP was also included.
