Abstract
The equilibrium velocity of a 2pi-kink in a long Josephson junction is calculated analytically for low bias currents using the expression fo r the tunnel current from microscopic theory. The result is compared t o the results of numerical simulations and excellent agreement is foun d, but the dynamics is very sensitive to the detailed form of the comp lex current amplitudes.
