Based on our earlier discovered analogy between Dirac's fermions and s
emiflexible polymers [Ann. Phys. (NY) 202 (1990) 186] the static scatt
ering function is calculated analytically for polymer chains of arbitr
ary stiffness and length. The obtained results are in excellent agreem
ent with the available Monte Carlo data for semiflexible chains. Based
on this agreement, a new method of measuring the persistence lengths
is proposed. Some implications of the obtained results for conformatio
nal properties of semiflexible surfaces are also briefly discussed.
