Abstract
Photoemission studies of the valence-band and core-level satellites of NiGa are presented. The valence-band satellite is resonantly enhanced near the 3p threshold (hv = 67 eV), and its centroid position is phot on-energy-dependent, which is similar to previous observations for ele mental Ni. The Ni 2p core-level satellites of NiGa are less intense th an the corresponding features in elemental Ni. In NiGa, some electrons transfer from the Ga 3d-band to the Ni 3d-band, while the Ni 3d-band is not completely filled by these electrons.
