The application of electret dosemeters in radiation protection practic
e requires the reduction of environmental and handling effects that in
jure the electret's charge stability. The charging procedure as well a
s pre-and/or post-treatments of electrets must be optimised with the a
im of good charge stability. Therefore, some change in the design of a
previously developed dosemeter prototype and in the electret formatio
n was undertaken. The results for long-term stability as well as the d
osimetric properties of the new dosemeter type are described. Conclusi
ons about its properties in comparison with those of the dosemeter pro
totypes are drawn.
