Abstract
Three Hungarian and 4 North-American winter wheat varieties and their 4 combinations (F1 hybrids) were grown in field trials during 1991/92. After harvest the yield of each genotype was tested for quality. Seve n properties - water absorption of flour, development time of dough, s tability of dough, quality number, farinograph value, loaf volume and protein content of flour - were examined. Negative heterosis or interm edier inheritance were found generally in all combinations for all cha racters. Positive heterosis was observed only in development time of d ough, in quality number and in farinograph value in one cross.
