The degree to which changes in temperature and precipitation over the past hundred years can be seen in the data for Sheffield is examined b y data inspection, tabulation, graphical plots and simple statistical methods. Whilst illustrating the difficulty (if not impossibility) of thus establishing evidence for anthropogenically-enhanced global warmi ng and associated precipitation changes, this analysis indicates ways in which local records could be examined by individuals or groups at s chool.
