A. Boglietti et al., A CONDUCTION ANGLE CONTROL STRATEGY FOR HIGH-SPEED BRUSHLESS MOTORS FOR SPINDLE DRIVES, Archiv fur Elektrotechnik, 76(5), 1993, pp. 387-395
Contents: The contribution refers to permanent magnet synchronous spin
dle motor drives in the speed range between 10,000 and 25,000 rpm and
in the power range between 20 and 60 kW Three different solutions have
been analyzed from the converter structure point of view: the Six-Ste
p Current Source Inverter (CSI), the Six-Step Voltage Source Inverter
(VSI-2c) (two phases-on, current supply type) and the Six-Step Voltage
Source Inverter (VSI-2v) (two phases-on, voltage supply type). The th
ird one has been selected as the test case. The authors present a meth
od to optimize the drive output performance in terms of output power a
nd capability curves. A non conventional load test bench has been set
up to test overall system at the rated speed and the rated torque. Com
plete simulation and experimental results related to the selected case
are presented.
