The hypothesis of possibility of convectial mechanism of generation of
intra-termocline lens (ITL) on the subpolar hydrological front in the
North Atlantic is checked up by numerical modeling. One-dimensional d
ifferential-parametric model of the upper layer of ocean is used. It i
s shown that anomalous disturbances of boundary conditions which were
in cold season 1989 - 1990 could significant to intensify evolution of
convectial mixing. Conclusion about reality of convectial mechanism o
f formation of the intra-termocline lens ITL is made. More favourable
period (January-February) and location of formation ITL (to East from
subpolar hydrological front) are indicated.
