Influence of mesoscale eddies on the Bering Sea hydrochemical structur
e is shown. It is revealed in phosphate, nitrate, ammonia, organic pho
sphorus and nitrogen distribution. Specific role of powerful anticyclo
nic eddies is discussed. The waters slipping down along the continenta
l slope to the depths 600 - 1000 m and reaches the oxygen minimum laye
r. Renewal of oxygen minimum layer waters and uppwelling of the deep w
aters occurs in the adjacent cyclonic eddies. Thus the renewal of the
deep waters takes place considerably faster than it was supposed.
