Jb. Wei et al., A NEW METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ANI LINE BY POLAROGRAPHY AND THE STUDIES OF ITS MECHANISM, Gaodeng xuexiao huaxue xuebao, 18(3), 1997, pp. 388-390
A new method was developed for the determination of aniline in waste w
ater. Aniline fan react with sodium nitrite in thr acid medium. Its di
azonium products can react continually with sodium sulfite and formald
ehyde. The last reaction products can reduce et the mercury electrode
with a sensitive adsorptive wave (E(p) = -0.72 V, vs. SCE). The concen
tration of aniline is linear with peak current in the range of 1.00 x
10(-7)similar to 5.00 x 10(-4) mol/L. The detection limit is 5.00 x 10
(-8) mol/L. The behaviour of polarographic wave was studied and the me
chanism oi electrode reaction was explored.
