The relationship between the fluorescences and structure of the copoly
mer of styrene and acrylic acid (ST-AA) was investigated in aqueous so
lution, When the concentration of ST-AA increased, there exist monomer
fluorescence (lambda(ex) = 258 nm, lambda(em) = 270 nm) and excimer f
luorescence (lambda(em) = 375 nm), The excimer fluorescence intensitie
s increased with increasing the concentration of ST-AA and with decrea
sing pH values, When trace amount of molybdenum compound [Mo3O2(O2CCH3
)(6)(H2O)(3)]. Br-2 . 2H(2)O, was added into the aqueous solution of S
T-AA, the excimer fluorescence intensities were increased.
