Abstract
An expression is derived for the threshold sensitivity theta of an aco ustic thermometer, and the characteristics of the instrument that gove rn the threshold-the noise temperature T(n) and the smoothing factor Q -are determined for arbitrary parameters of the receiving piezoelectri c transducer, rf amplifier, and low-pass filter and with allowance for the internal noise of the instrument.
