P. Swain et al., EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES WITH AN INDIGENOUS ISOLATE OF EDS-76 VIRUS IN CHICKEN, Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, 63(6), 1993, pp. 591-595
EDS-76 virus isolate (EDSV-IVRI/AD-86) did not produce any marked clin
ical signs or gross lesions in susceptible orally infected chicken but
caused severe damage in the uterus with production of soft-shelled cr
acked eggs of poor albumen quality. Virus specific immunofluorescence
was observed in spleen, uterus. and vagina of the infected layers. The
virus upon oral inoculation was excreted through cloaca for 6 days po
st-infection (DPI) and induced HI antibody (2(3)-2(6)) after 9 to 10 D
