R. Vijayasmitha et al., THE UTILITY OF LEUKOCYTE MIGRATION-INHIBITION TEST IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF HYDATIDOSIS IN FOOD ANIMALS, Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, 63(6), 1993, pp. 596-599
The efficiency of leukocyte migration inhibition test (LMIT) as an in
vitro method in detecting hydatidosis in animals was studied. The mean
percentage efficacy of LMIT in diagnosing the disease was 73.41, 70.0
0 and 75.00, and 75.00 in cattle, buffaloes and sheep, respectively, g
iving an overall efficacy of 73.39%. The test was nonsignificant betwe
en the species of animals (X2<0.01031). LMIT also revealed an overall
percentage of false positive (39.47) and false negative (26.60). This
diagnostic test was applied in cattle and buffaloes for the first time
