A series of cyclopentadienyl-ene-1,2-dithiolatocobalt complexes, [(eta
5-C5H5)CO(S2C2RH)], has been prepared. The derivative in which quinoxa
lin-2-yl is bound to the dithiolene manifests novel electrochemical be
haviour in acidic media which is consistent with a coupling of metal-c
entered electron addition to protonation of a pyrazine ring nitrogen.
