The analysis of growth and development of Zagreb pubertal population w
as conducted as a pilot investigation for the Croatian National Growth
and Development Study. The aim of this paper was to give a basis for
pubertal growth standards of Zagreb girls. Data were collected during
a 4-year mixed-longitudinal study performed on 121 clinically healthy
girls. Anthropometric, spirometric, echocardiographic and ergometric v
ariables (79 of them) were measured annually. A total of 34,918 morpho
logical and functional data were obtained in girls aged 11 to 15 years
. Descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, kurtosi
s and skewness) and the mean age of menarche appearance are displayed.
Irregularities in growth intensity of certain parameters are noticeab
le.
