M. Loudon et E. Budding, PHOTOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF 2 ECLIPSING BINARIES IN THE MAGELLANIC CLOUDS, Astrophysics and space science, 201(2), 1993, pp. 287-295
B, V and I light curves of the eclipsing binaries HV12634 in the LMV,
and HV2208 in the SMC (cf. West et al., 1992), have been analysed with
the aid of optimal curve-fitting techniques. Parameter derivation inv
olves aa successive approximations procedure. The results of this are
combined with aa standard mass:luminosity relation to explore tentativ
e absolute parameters. The combined evidence shows some disparity with
standard MS-like models. It also demonstrates some relative insensiti
vity of photometric analysis, in isolation, to elucidate clear facts o
n such possibly atypical, remote. hot stars. Auxilliary spectroscopic
data are required to resolve remaining ambiguities.
