U. Kurfurst, POTENTIAL RELEVANCE OF IMPRECISE DATA FROM SOLID SAMPLE ANALYSIS WITHGRAPHITE-FURNACE AAS, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 346(6-9), 1993, pp. 556-559
In a strictly analytical view the precision of analytical results must
be as good as possible. However, if the imprecision reflects the dist
ribution of the analyte in the sample, it can provide important inform
ation. Examples are given for the influence of trace element heterogen
eity on solid sampling graphite furnace AAS data, which are highly rel
evant with respect to the original sample.
