Abstract
A serologic survey was carried out in order to find brucellosis reacto rs in animals at the Metropolitan Zoo, Santiago, Chile. Seven out of 1 58 animals reacted against Brucella antigen. Six presented titres agai nst Brucella type S antigen (Standard Agglutination Test). These anima ls were a female wild boar (Sus scrofa) a dwarf nanny goat (Capra hirc us), two white-faced male monkeys (Cebus albifrons), a tigress (Panthe ra tigris) and a female jaguar (Panthera onca). The last two animals, also reacted to the Rose Bengal Test. Serum from a female sacred papio n monkey (Papio hamadryas), was the only reactor to the Gel Diffusion Test for Brucella type R.
