FIR transmission spectra of HgCdMnTe are investigated over a wide spec
tral range (from 40 cm-1 up to 400 cm-1) at different temperatures (fr
om 5 K up to 300 K). It is shown that different transverse and longitu
dinal acoustic, local and resonant modes are activated by disordering
and manganese impurities in the range of low values of single-phonon s
tate densities of HgCdTe. FIR spectra seem to be a good probe for char
acterization of the quality of semimagnetic crystals.
