Abstract
C-13 CP MAS NMR spectroscopy was used to characterize alpha-C:H materi als generated from methane and hydrogen mixtures using a microwave pla sma. Dipolar dephasing experiments indicate a range of T(dd) making qu antification of quaternary ''diamond''-like carbons difficult. Unconst rained lineshape analysis is not suitable for the deconvolution of the NMR spectra, but linewidth constrained analyses gave reasonable resul ts. (C) 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
