L. Davel et al., INHIBITION OF LYMPHOCYTE-INDUCED ANGIOGENESIS BY COPPER AND TNF, Journal of experimental & clinical cancer research, 12(2), 1993, pp. 111-114
T-lymphocytes from tumor-bearing mice induced a strong neovascular res
ponse when inoculated i.d. in syngeneic animals (SLIA: syngeneic lymph
ocyte-induced angiogenesis). In this report. recombinant human tumor n
ecrosis factor (rHuTNF) inhibited this angiogenic response. The lack o
f SLIA was also observed under copper supply diet. As SLIA involves th
e release of lymphokines from activated T-cells, our results would sug
gest that the suppression of angiogenesis could be also ascribed to an
effect of TNF and copper on the immune system.
