H. Kanno et Y. Maeyama, ANOMALOUS BEHAVIOR OF THE GLASS-TRANSITION TEMPERATURE FOR A MIXTURE OF ALCOHOL AND AQUEOUS LICL SOLUTION, Chemical physics letters, 210(1-3), 1993, pp. 107-110
Glass transition temperatures (T(g)) of mixtures of alcohol (methanol,
ethanol or 1-propanol) and aqueous LiCl solution were measured as a f
unction of alcohol content. Anomalous T(g) behavior was observed for a
ll the solutions. Phase separation (double glass transition phenomenon
) was observed for the mixture of ethanol and aqueous LiCl solution. H
ydrophobic interaction between water and alcohol molecules is consider
ed to be responsible for the anomalous T(g) behavior.
