Abstract
The theory and practice of ladle desulphurisation of steel with powder ed lime and slag forming mixtures containing lime is considered. It is concluded that combined treatment with a lump and powdered slag formi ng mixture (3.1-11.5 kg/t steel) when the heat is tapped produces a 25 -65% degree of desulphurisation. When a mixture of powdered lime and f luorspar is blown (3.57 kg/t) through metal in a desulphurisation inst allation, the degree of desulphurisation reaches approximately 70%.
