Taenia crassiceps larvae, typically found in rodents, were recovered f
rom fluctuant subcutaneous cystic lesions in a dog. Differential diagn
osis included Taenia crassiceps cysticercosis, other metacestode infec
tions, and pseudotumoral skin diseases.
