Abstract
A highly efficient and tunable Nd3+ doped fluoride fibre laser operati ng in the 1-3 mum band pumped at 0.8 mum is demonstrated. The pump las er is a titanium sapphire laser and the tuning element is a dielectric multicoated bandpass filter inserted in the cavity. The oscillation w avelength was successfully tuned from 1.315 to 1.348 mum for the first time.
