Abstract
Reflection SHG measurements with fundamental wavelength 532 nm have be en carried out on proton-exchanged LiTaO3 waveguides. The SH signal de creased exponentially with waveguide thickness. The result is interpre ted as a strongly reduced nonlinearity in the proton-exchanged layer. An increased signal was observed from annealed samples.
