Alu-Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to amplify human DNA from
complex mixed sources of DNA. Amplification of human DNA sequences by
Alu-PCR could be accomplished in samples containing low concentration
s of template in the presence of excess heterologous DNA sequences. Th
us, sensitivity and specificity are maintained in complex DNA mixtures
allowing positive identification of the presence of human DNA sequenc
