Rs. Adve et Tk. Sarkar, GENERATION OF ACCURATE BROAD-BAND INFORMATION FROM NARROW-BAND DATA USING THE CAUCHY METHOD, Microwave and optical technology letters, 6(10), 1993, pp. 569-573
The Cauchy method has been used to extrapolate a desired parameter ove
r a broad range of frequencies. This information is generated using so
me information about the parameter at some discrete frequency points i
n a narrow range. The approach is to assume that the parameter is a ra
tional function of frequency. The problem is to determine the order of
the polynomials and the coefficients therein. The method of total lea
st squares is used to solve the resulting matrix equation. This method
can be coded as a stand-alone program for parameter extrapolation or
incorporated as part of a larger analysis program. The Cauchy method h
as yielded accurate results when used in conjunction with a method-of-
moments program and as an independent program in device characterizati
on. (C) 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
