Abstract
The conductivity profile inversion for purely conducting media is stud ied. Presently, some approximation inversion formulations are given fo r this problem. In this Letter, a generalized Gel'fand-Lavitan equatio n is given for exact inversion. Like the famous GL equation, the gener alized GL equation is exactly solvable when the reflection coefficient is a rational function. Reconstruction examples are also given.
