Abstract
Poly(p-phenylene) with n > 35 was obtained by means of oxidative dehyd ropolycondensation of benzene in ionic liquid based on aluminum chlori de and butyl pyridine chloride. The influence of the reaction conditio ns on the degree of polymerization was studied. The mechanism of the r eaction was refined.
