Abstract
Properties of the skin layer of ultrahigh modulus polyethylene fiber w ere studied by inverse gas chromatography, external friction, and ther momechanical analysis. It was shown that the fiber surface is in an am orphous nonequilibrium state with the temperature of structural transi tion at approximately 350 K.
