Abstract
The kinetics of thermal degradation of PVC in the presence of solvents (plasticizers) depends on the basicity of the solvent. The kinetic pa rameters of the process depend on the interaction between functional g roups of the solvent and polymer molecules, i.e. on the specific solva tion of a polymer with a solvent. An equation describing the rate of e limination of HCl from PVC in solution is proposed.
