The effect of quasi-local states of electrons on transverse magnetopla
sma waves in compensated metals is considered. It is shown that combin
ing magnetoplasma resonance with the impurity electron resonance leads
to two spectral branches of magnetoplasma waves separated by a forbid
den frequency region (quasi-gap). The spectrum and damping decrement o
f these waves are calculated. Their effect on the surface impedance of
metals is considered. The resonance of impedance at the upper boundar
y of quasi-gap is observed.
