A non-intrusive flow visualization technique based on light activation
of photochromic dye material has been used to obtain velocity profile
s in gas-liquid flows including annular, slug and stratified flows. Th
e preliminary results revealed several important two-phase flow mechan
isms that have not been clearly seen previously.
