Abstract
''Paico,'' Chenopodium ambrosioides L., is a traditional Peruvian medi cine which is considered to be nervine, antirheumatic, anthelmintic, e tc. An attempt was made to isolate the component having sedative and/p r analgesic properties from ''Paico'' and ''Aritasou'' (the Japanese n ame for C. ambrosioides). Ascaridole was identified as the active prin ciple in both materials.
