Abstract
This communication will provide an overview of the papers given in the Symposium entitled ''Pre-College Education in Nuclear Science'' held under the auspices of the Division of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology of the American Chemical SocietY, and given at the 204th National Mee ting of the American Chemical Society in Washington, D.C., on August 2 4-28, 1992. The Symposium consisted of 45 invited papers, and covered topics in nuclear science education at the high school, middle school, and elementary school levels. The Symposium also presented an overvie w of the involvement of university and federal laboratories in providi ng teaching and research opportunities for pre-college faculty and stu dents, curriculum enhancement by special interest groups such as power and utility companies, as well as funding opportunities from private and federal agencies.
