T. Hirayama et al., OBSERVATION OF MAGNETIC-DOMAIN STATES OF BARIUM FERRITE PARTICLES BY ELECTRON HOLOGRAPHY, Applied physics letters, 63(3), 1993, pp. 418-420
Magnetic domain states of completely isolated particles of barium ferr
ite between 0.1 and 2 mum in size are investigated by electron hologra
phy. Phase distribution is reconstructed digitally by the Fourier tran
sform method and converted to interference micrographs. In the interfe
rence micrographs single magnetic-domain particles are observed direct
ly and clearly for the first time. Furthermore, it is found that singl
e-domain and two-domain particles coexist down to sizes as small as ab
out 0.1 mum.
