M. Pileggi et al., GENETIC-HETEROGENEITY RESULTING FROM MICE LIAL ELONGATION OF NICB SUPPRESSORS FROM ASPERGILLUS-NIDULANS, Arquivos de biologia e tecnologia, 36(1), 1993, pp. 149-163
From a nice strain of the filamentous fungus Aspergillus nidulans, whi
ch requires nicotinic acid, ten revertants were isolated and analyaed
for micelial elongation. MSE sunicB strains were grown at different co
nditions of incubation and culture media. The experiment was carried o
ut five times, and the colonies diameters were measured daily. The mic
elial elongation of nicB suppressors was statistically evaluated by th
e ''t'' test for growth efficiency, and by the ''split-plot factorial
design'' method for variance analysis. A genetic heterogeneity among t
he strains was observed.
