THE EFFECT OF HUMAN-BEHAVIOR ON THE DESIGN OF AN INFORMATION-RETRIEVAL SYSTEM INTERFACE

While current research trends concern such human factors as physical a nd intellectual compatibility with an information system, little resea rch exists that focuses on human behavior in the information seeking p rocess. The purpose of this paper is to identify some of the behaviora l factors that influence the design effectiveness of an information re trieval system and to apply some principles of human behavior to the d esign of the user interface.
