Uretero-ileal stenosis is a recognised complication of ileal conduit u
rinary diversion. Two patients are described in whom a combination of
fibreoptic conduitoscopy with standard endoscopic ''biliary'' sphincte
rotomy was used to treat anastomotic strictures. The technique of endo
scopic transurostomy diathermy anastomotomy allowed the salvage of 3 r
enal units without the need for laparotomy or long-term indwelling ure
teric stents.
