Abstract
The transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic stent-shunt is a non-surgi cal method for creating a portosystemic shunt. Early reports suggest t hat it is effective for treating portal hypertension and variceal blee ding. This review describes the technique and discusses the indication s and complications.
