A local pseudopotential for electron-ion interaction in liquid metals
is proposed which contains single parameter. The pseudopotential param
eter was estimated by fitting it with the wave vector, q = q0, where t
he form factor passes through first zero. We have calculated the form
factors of the pseudopotential using different forms of the dielectric
functions. These form factors have been used to compute electrical re
sistivity and thermoelectric power of several monovalent, divalent and
polyvalent liquid metals. A reasonably good agreement with the availa
ble theoretical and experimental data is obtained which justifies the
formulation.
